"No Neal, they don't let you sleep at Cabella's"

I really miss my Mom today. It's very hard having her far away. I have always had her there if I needed her. I talk to her a million times a day, but it's not really the same. Two more weeks and we can go visit. The kids are very excited for our weekend adventures at Nana and Papa's. I have had to call it this so they aren't too sad they can't just drive ten minutes to be with them. Neal just wants us to drop him off at Cabella's (right around the corner from my parents new house) and he will spend the weekends there. :)

Has it really been ten years?

Wow, what can I say about this? My ten year High School reunion is tonight in Seattle, Washington. I am not going, but I thought it would be fun to post a couple of pictures from Graduation. I took the one of me out of a scrapbook. It's my Mom's favorite, so that one is for her. I am sorry to my family for the somewhat embarrassing picture of us. Hey, we were cool!
Ten years was a long time ago.

Granters!

Our baby is two. How can that be? Where did the time go? Grant is an amazing little boy. He is the sweetest thing in the world. When he turned two, he became a very mischievous little boy. He is very sneaky and quiet when he is getting into trouble. I can walk out of the room leaving Grant on the couch. When I come back a couple minutes later, he has whatever was on the table dumped all over the floor and he is back on the couch. How he works so fast, I will never know.

When Grant was a baby he was somewhat ignored most of the time. Not on purpose, but he was so good and never complained, I didn't have to worry about him too much. Again, when he turned two, something changed. He decided he wasn't going to be ignored anymore. When he is having a bad day he wants his Mom to hold him and that is it.

What I love about Grant

I love that Grant idolizes his big brother. Whatever Landon is doing, he has to do. Whatever Landon is saying, he has to say. I know this won't last forever, but a Mom can hope, can't she?
I love when Grant and Neal go back and forth saying "I love you so much", "No, I love you so much." Adorable.
I love Grant's blond hair and brown eyes.
I love that Grant could be covered from head to toe with mud from rolling around in a mud puddle face first, but then see a peice of trash in the middle of that mud puddle and run to the trash to throw it away. Amazing.
I love that he is incredibly easy going and very easy to please. Makes my life a little easier.
I love that when he gives us a kiss he has to kiss our forehead, then our cheeks, then our chin. So cute!

He truly is the light of our family. I am so thankful he is ours.

Landaloo!

Landon is four years old. Raising Landon has been a bit of a challenge, but getting easier all the time. Even when he is driving me crazy, he is charming by default. He has these adorable dimples and these giant eyes and it is almost impossible to stay upset with him. I feel bad for whom ever he chooses to marry.
Landon has loved baseball since he could pick up a ball. I started watching baseball games with him when he was about two. That's when he decided that his favorite
baseball team is the Cubs. I think he has a one track mind. Baseball is his life. His favorite thing to do is play baseball with his Dad at night.

What I love about Landon

I love his deep little voice. It's so cute when he looks at me and says with that deep voice "Mom, I love you" and then gives me a high five.
I love how I have been wrong about almost every milestone in his life. For Example: I thought that he would be a nightmare when he went to Primary cause he had a hard time in Nursery. He proved me wrong. He loves primary and he actually sits through the whole thing and he hasn't beat up any of the kids yet. Same with preschool. I thought he would be kicked out by the end of the first day. He's doing great.
I love how he calls his two year old brother "Baby". "Come on baby, lets go play." It's hilarious.
I love how he constantly expresses how much he loves his Daddy and how he thinks his Daddy can do anything.
I love how excited he gets about everything. No matter what we do, he can't wait to do it.
I love to watch his face when he is deciding to either do the right thing or to not. It's such a struggle, but he tries so hard.
He is such a sweet kid and I couldn't imagine life without him.

Aliya Girl!!

Aliya is our oldest. She is seven going on sixteen. Raising a girl is an interesting and sometimes impossible task. For example... When I wake her up in the morning for school there is crying and screaming and stalling. Then when it is time to leave and I am rushing her out the door all I hear is "why are we always rushing" and "why didn't you wake me up earlier." It's enough to make me scream and want to pull my hair out. She keeps us on our toes.
One of my favorite things to do with Aliya is our movie nights. I don't buy a lot of junk food, but for movie night, we buy everything. Ice Cream, chips, candy, cookies and a candy bar for Aliya.

What I love about Aliya

I love to hear her sing. I can't sing at all and I am so thankful that she can.
I love how she can just sense how people are feeling. She has always been so aware of others emotions. Wise beyond her years as my Grandmother says.
I love her laugh. When she laughs I can't help but laugh also.
I love how she can leave for school so clean and girly and then come home and her hair is all over the place and she is dirty from head to toe cause she was playing soccer in the mud with the boys.
I love that she is stubborn and never backs down when she knows she's right. I hope she keeps that strength and determination as she grows.
I love how curious she is about everything. The million questions sometimes drives us crazy, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. If her smart Mom doesn't know the answer then her new saying is "Let's Google it."
I could go on and on. She is a great girl and we are lucky to have her.

My hubby, Neal!

Wow, it was almost just as hard to find a picture of Neal by himself then it was to find one of me by myself. Luckily he has an awesome wife and she got him an amazing present for Christmas a couple of years ago.

Neal has lived in this town his entire life except the two years he lived in Phoenix while on his mission. I think that is great. We can't go anywhere with out seeing someone he knows. It helps that he has an incredible memory.

Neal works as a construction superintendent for a major construction company. He is also a volunteer firefighter for the fire department. He also owns his own construction company along with his brother, Dan. He is a wonderful husband and an awesome Dad. WoW, writing it all down like that makes makes him sound like a workaholic. Oh wait, he is a workaholic. I know his only motivation for this work obsession is us, his family. This is why I love him. He very rarely misses anything the kids have going on and if I need him, he drops everything.

In his spare time, if he has any, he enjoys playing softball, basketball anything with the word ball at the end. Oh and Golf. Lucky for me he does not watch sports.

Neal is an amazing man with a good heart. Our kids cry when he leaves and they cheer when he comes home. I will let him add anything later, if he wants.
Well, two down three to go.

Me Myself and I!

Well, after searching the thousands of pictures I have on my computer this was the only picture I had by myself. Neal took this fast and I wasn't posing. You get what you get. I decided I would spotlight each family member and tell a little something about each of us. It's my turn.

I have lived in my current town for about ten years. I moved here from Washington. I miss it. My sister still lives there and we try to visit often. I do love where I live. The sunshine, the mountains, the people. My family is all here. My Mom and Dad recently moved up North. I miss them very much.

I met Neal on my sixteenth birthday. I moved and we kept in contact as pen pals. Never anything other than friendship. He was a little goofy and he made me laugh. When I moved back here, he was on his mission. He came home and he was still goofy and he still made me laugh, but he was different. I saw him differently. We dated for a little while and the rest is history. He is still a little goofy and he always makes me laugh. He is the best part of my life. I don't know who I would be without him.

I have three amazing children. I am lucky enough to be able to stay home with them. They make my life so much fun and I can't believe they are mine.

I always have a hard time when it gets to this part. I am a wife and a mom and somewhere I get confused about the rest. So, I do have many interests. I don't always have time for those interests, but they are there. I love to read. I only read at night because I tend to get lost in my books and forget what is going on around me. I love movies. The good, the bad and everything in between. I am a typical girl and I love mushy romantic movies. I love to go on walks. I love to look at the stars. I could look at them for hours. I love to run, although it has been years since I have. I love to go to the gym and do aerobic classes. Getting back in the habit is hard. I love to keep in contact with all of my friends and family. I don't have many friends here, so it is nice writing to them and hearing about all of their lives. I think I am incredibly funny. Although I am not sure anyone else does.

I think that's about it for me. I have a pretty great life. I want to warn all of you, I am not a good writer and I tend to write how I talk. Those of you who know me will always understand what I am saying and those of you who don't might have a hard time. I think this Blog thing will be fun.
