Who knew I could keep a secret.....

The surprise of the century was accomplished on Friday! My friend, Shanna, had come to me one day and said "Hey, Hannah Montana is coming to Vegas do you want to see if we could get tickets?" I said "sure", not really actually thinking we would. Past shows had been sold out in seconds after going on sell . So, the day came to purchase tickets. Prayers were said, internet speeds were set to a higher capability and our fingers were ready. Six hours later, Shanna and I had Hannah Montana tickets. And not for just any day, but one of the most special days of the year, Aliya's birthday. What could be more perfect. Shanna and I decided to keep this amazing opportunity a secret until the very day of the concert. We picked the girls up from school and took them into Shanna's SUV and told them what we were doing for Aliya's birthday. This will forever be one of my favorite memories.

Aliya is still not sure what is going on at this point.

She is definitely excited about what is going on!!

All of the girls were ecstatic about the concert, except poor Allysah. (I hope I am spelling it right Shanna.) She didn't want to leave school early because she was going to miss out on her party. She perked up shortly after and had a fun night.
The girls all crimped and sparkled up thanks to Shanna's cute niece.

We went to this great place called the Elephant Bar for dinner. All the girls took turns taking a picture with the birthday girl. Shanna's girls are the cutest girls ever. Their daddy is not gong to like it when they are teenagers.

My favorite thing about Aliya is her excitement for everything. She is always crazy and happy!! Good combo!

Pretty Birthday girl with Elephant glasses on!

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to Aliya!! Happy Birthday to you!!! Our waiter was awesome by the way.
I didn't get pictures, but Shanna's family and friends joined us for dinner. They are all awesome. And Shanna's friends were cracking me up! Such a fun dinner.

We finally got to the concert!! Here is the gang in our second seat change. If you want to know the story , just ask!!My Eight year old girl!! Is that possible?

There's Hannah!! Our third seat change was awesome!!

Aliya with Miley on the big screen!!

So fun!! What a great performer that girl is!

Aliya having the best time. She wanted me up singing and dancing the whole time with her. What a fun girl!

For the Encore, Billy Ray came out and sang with her. It was awesome! Does it sound like I enjoyed this concert more than my daughter? I may have!

All tuckered out and ready to head home!!I can't even explain to you what a great night this was. I got to spend an unforgettable night with my daughter on her birthday and I will never forget it. I am sure Aliya will remember her eighth birthday forever!!
P.S. Thanks to Angie for watching my boys. I don't leave them much and knowing they were with someone I completely trust was awesome.

"Take me out to the ball game....."

Whenever we can we try to get over to the park to play baseball. This time we decided to go pick up our little nephew, Aiden. This kid will make you laugh and he is oblivious to the fact that he is being funny! Neal was trying to teach him how to hold the bat and how to swing. All of the sudden, Aiden says "Hold on Uncle Neal." He then proceeds to take off his jacket and starts pumping his arms up and down. Neal asked him what he was doing and he said he had to flex his muscles and stretch if he was going to play baseball. I know it doesn't sound funny and if I wasn't laughing hysterically I could of gotten a visual for you.

Aliya loves to show up the boys whenever she can. And she can hit that ball every time. She continues to amaze me.

Landon is of course the reason for these trips to the park. He is starting to show interest in his other toys though. Like using his light savor as a bat. Or pretending lightning Mcqueen is on the Chicago Cubs. Or building a baseball bat out of legos! When Aiden asked Landon how come he can hit the ball so good, Landon just replied with "It's cause I'm really good."

Grant loves to play also, but most of the time he just wanders around the field picking up the balls and putting them back in the bucket or chases the bugs or digs a big hole at first base!

My poor Granters!!

You should see the other kid!! :)

"For you, a thousand times over.."

Well, I did it! I finally finished The Kite Runner. It took me a whole month to finish, but it was well worth it. My life was really crazy in December. I can tell when I really like a book when I let myself get involved in the story. If I yell out in frustration, laugh or cry. If I think about the book while I am driving or showering. In the shower is my only alone time. It's not weird, I promise. Well, I thought about this book a lot! I wanted to finish before the movie came out. Now I find out the movie has been out since December 14th and is only showing limited showings. Which means it is not coming here. Hopefully I will get to rent the movie when it is available. I love movies almost as much as I like to read. I am now on to a book Neal got me for Christmas. What a sweet husband. He got me a book knowing that I will probably be reading it instead of spending time with him. :)
